Professor Dr Peter Kawalek is Director of the Centre for Information Management at the Loughborough Business School, Loughborough University, UK. He has a visiting position at the Atlantic Technological University, Ireland. Of Alliance Manchester Business School for 16+ years, where he is now Adjunct, Peter previously held positions at Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Warwick Business School, Deusto Business School in Bilbao, and School of Computer Science at Manchester.
Professor Kawalek is President of the Cybernetics Society. He has experience of more than two decades of research in partnership with UK policing, including collaboration at the level of Chief Constable. Professor Kawalek has developed a research team at Loughborough Business School dedicated to policing and security and the new threats of digital organization.
Professor Kawalek also has wide experience working with organizations including Siemens AG., Network Rail, Triumph Motorcycles, Lancashire Constabulary, Greater Manchester Police, SAP, IBM, Royal Commonwealth Society, Office an Taoiseach, the Department of Communities and Local Government (London), Leeds City Council, Salford City Council, City Football Group (Manchester City FC., New York City FC), four23, British Telecommunications.
Professor Kawalek has held and managed over £3.5m in research grants from government and research councils. He has published in journals including Information Systems Journal, Journal of Information Technology, European Journal of Operations Research, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Risk Analysis, International Journal of Information Management, California Management Review and the Journal of Business Ethics.
